Trees inhale carbon-dioxide, while animals and humans exhale it. Trees and plants are vital for the survival of human beings. Deforestation is happening in many places all over the world. Trees store Co2 and are chopped down and burnt at a fast rate. The Co2 stored in the wood and wood products is released when it begins to rot. However, when burnt the Co2 release is at a sudden rate rather than gradually as with rotting. The Amazon is the largest rainforest in the world and is home to 15% of the world’s known plant species, and nearly 10% of the world’s mammals. It has over 300 species of tree in a single hectare.
