Global warming will also enhance the spread of diseases. As northern countries warm, disease-carrying insects migrate north, carrying viruses with them that we have not yet built immunity for. For example, in Kenya, where significant temperature increases have been recorded, disease-bearing mosquito populations have increased in once cooler, highland areas. Malaria is now becoming a nation-wide epidemic.
Weather
Precipitation patterns will change and shift as global warming progresses. Some areas of the earth will become wetter, while others will experience heavy droughts. Warmer air brings heavier storms, so the chance of a life-threatening storms is much more likely. Where water is already scarce, there will be less and less water as the temperature warms.
Warmer air has the ability to hold more water vapour, so Global warming has caused heavy rains and flooding in many countries. With increased floods and droughts, not only will our safety be affected, but also the economy.
Rainforests are responsible for some of the weather action for other countries too. The wet, humid conditions produce vapour droplets in the air.
Economic Disaster
We will suffer financially as natural disasters caused by Global Warming occur more and more frequently, and as diseases get expensive to treat. Tourism and businesses will fail when a countries economy and government falls.
Population Risk
The rise in human population will result in pressure on resources, more poverty, lack of land space, less jobs available, cost of importing, etc.
Rising Sea Levels
The sea level is expected to rise due to polar ice caps melting as the earth heats up. Low-lying coastal regions will be greatly affected, particularly developed and densely populated areas worldwide. Landmarks, plantation, buildings, etc may be lost.
Unsustainable Development
Natural resources are needed for heavy industrialization and urbanization. Yet, industrialization creates immense amounts of greenhouse gases, depleting the natural resources needed for further development of the country. Without finding a new and more efficient way to use energy, we will be depleted of our natural resources needed for our planet to thrive.
Future Outlook of Global Warming: What can we do to help?
British government studies show that to avoid potential disaster in relation to global warming, greenhouse gas emissions must be reduced by approximately 80%!
Reforestation
Plants absorb Carbon Dioxide from the atmosphere for photosynthesis. Replanting trees that have died or been cut down will help reduce this greenhouse gas.
Global Warming and The Road Ahead
As global warming progresses, natural resources will be further depleted, and there will be risks of wildlife extinctions, melting of the polar ice caps, coral bleaching and disintegration, floods and droughts, disease, economic disaster, sea level rise, population risks, unsustainable land, and more.
There needs to be a balance between protecting our environment and developing human technology, than one day we can live in a world where we can progress as mankind and preserve and grow our natural environment.
